Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.
Might I add:
The defeat of the wizard who made people choose how they’d be to be executed

hilariously, these are almost all in my fic tag. so, a compiled list from the notes (and some extras):
You’re a superhero, and you have been having many battles with this one slippery villain who always eludes your grasp. One day, while you were out, you receive an alert that someone broke into your house. Upon returning, your weapon already in your hand, you are stunned to find said villain holding your pet cat, curled up in a ball on your carpet, and crying.
This one is dedicated to Elliot Page, even though he’ll never see it. Congrats, dude.
Tank was getting real tired of Nemea. Real tired.
There were worse villains
- Claw sprang to mind, usually after bad dreams of shadows and screams.
Obscurata, the star of those bad dreams, was probably worse in her own way,
even if she’d decided to make a hobby of gently guiding baby heroes. But Nemea
was just plain driving him nuts.
Nemea had started out as a
hench for Flashcard over in Nueva Roma, where she was Guarde’s problem. But
she’d broken from Flashcard over one of his nastier mind games, and moved
cities and become Tank’s problem. She was mid-level… robbing banks and
occasionally taking hostages, but not the
bomb-the-city-or-otherwise-slaughter-thousands type.
The trouble was, Nemea was
very fast, and Tank wasn’t. Oh, he was faster than any normal human, super
strength took care of that, but Nemea was super-fast. Very occasionally he’d
corner her long enough to get a couple of hits in, but never for long. And
being mostly invulnerable, Nemea’s claws didn’t do more than annoy him. He
wasn’t sure if she found it as frustrating as he did, but there really wasn’t
much either of them could do to the other one, when you got right down to it,
not unless they wanted to start tearing off limbs or gouging out eyeballs,
which was a level of mayhem Tank didn’t care for and Nemea tended to avoid. So
whenever they encountered each other it was mostly a lot of yelling, and Tank
trying to get the stolen goods back or the hostages out.
This morning there’d been
another round of time-wasting. Nemea had robbed a jewellery store, Tank had
showed up, there’d been yelling, there’d been a lot of pointless flailing that
didn’t catch her or cut him, and then…
He didn’t know why he’d
done it. Maybe it’d been the unusually worked up sound to Nemea’s voice, or the
higher-than-normal levels of property damage, but he’d stopped trying to grab
her for a moment and asked a genuine question. “Dude. Are you… you
know… okay?”

it was the morning after the big move (a/n idk where she moved too lol) and you swept your messy dark brown hair that was slightly wavy with sun kissed blonde streaks in it up into a messy bun and swiped mascara across your thick lashes that brought out your shining blue ocean colored orbs before throwing on the large frumpy sweatshirt that i had thrown on the floor the night before. i heard the doorbell ring from downstairs. “y/n!” your mom yelled “get down here quick!” “what is it mom?” i yelled back, she was so annoying sometimes. “your new owners are here,” she stated. “my- what?” you stammered, perfect pink lips opening in shock. “yes honey, how else do you think i was able to pay for this house and my alcohol addition? now open the door” you opened the door and saw them on the doorstep, one direction. they looked mostly bored but harry opened his arms and gave you a brilliant smile, his pearly white teeth glistening in the sun. “hey princess get your stuff.”
i can’t find the original tweet and when i google it all i get are transmisogynists circlejerking over how awful it was on talk shows, but i think about that one tweet that’s like “i want to get a uterus transplant so i can be the first trans woman to get an abortion” at LEAST once a week. her MIND
One of the most life-changing things I ever learned came from Mythbusters, where they tested and proved (with cognitive testing puzzles and reaction time tests) that lying down and resting with the intention to sleep STILL provided significant mental benefits over just staying awake, even if a person couldn’t fall asleep in the amount of time they had.
It helps me to actually sleep to know that just lying down with my eyes closed is still doing me some good, and helps me to not freak out/beat myself up when I stay up later than intended. Any amount of rest is better than no rest!
So if you didn’t know that…now you do
do you know that i think of this post every time i can’t sleep op. what mythbusters did for you, you have done for a great many others.
One instructor in nursing school, fifty years ago: “If you can’t sleep, rest. If you can’t rest, at least lie down and pretend.”
Idea: A lich that can only be truly killed by putting its head in an ancient holy lake, so after players defeat the lich they have to go all the way to the holy lake with a decapitated lich head that in frustration spouts petty insults at the party
